In case of Mafia III: Definitive Edition we got a GOTY-edition of the game with all the updates and DLC included, but here Mafia II: Definitive Edition served as a remaster of the hit from the consoles of the previous generation. But judging by the numerous reviews and videos, the release of the updated second “Mafia” can be described in one word – “disaster.”
The game on all platforms turned out to be buggy, but console versions of the remaster (the PS4 prefix is often mentioned) stand out, showing ridiculous glitches, constantly flickering and loading on the go textures, as well as a very low frame rate, which sometimes turns the gameplay into a banal slide show .
In one of the videos you can watch how the player constantly falls under the texture.
In another video, one of the fans managed to survive the attack of blinding light, which causes a decrease in frame rate to completely unplayable 5FPS.
On the example of another record, you can observe the texture of grass covering that is loading and disappearing literally two meters from the player.
Do not forget about glitches of facial animation in the style of Assassin’s Creed Unity.
There are a lot of such videos on the Internet, but 2K Games still did not make a single official statement regarding the problems Mafia II: Definitive Edition, whose development was assigned to D3t Ltd (previously it worked as a support studio for projects such as The Room and Shenmue III). It is hoped that in the case of a remake of the original “Mafia”, which was directly developed by Hangar 13, such blunders will not be allowed.
Compilation Mafia: Trilogy Available on PC (Steam), Xbox One, and PS4. Currently console versions Mafia II: Definitive Edition and Mafia III: Definitive Edition can be purchased at a price of $ 30 for each of the projects. A remake of the original game will go on sale on August 28 along with a boxed release of the trilogy. It can be bought as part of the Mafia: Trilogy collection for $ 60, or for 40 separately.
