Electronic Arts in a hurry and without proper preparation announced FIFA 21, leaving a lot of questions regarding not only the quality of the product, but also the game modes. The ODDS portal is being disassembled so that developers can improve in the “Clubs of Pros” mode.

It’s no secret to anyone that Electronic Arts has practically abandoned all game modes, with the exception of the Ultimate Team. The reason is simple – they do not generate profits. Somewhere and somehow, innovations appear in the form of a career for Alex Hunter or Volta, but they quickly bother, even though in the form of bonuses you can get buns for FUT there.
Another thing is “Pro Clubs”. The mode is not only popular among players, but also develops independently. Here you have both domestic championships with hierarchical steps, and European cups by analogy with the Champions League and the Europa League, and, of course, tournaments involving national teams. It is also a great way to spend time with your friends. No joke, 11 different players on the field at the same time.
No less acute are problems with access to the riding ball. The goalkeeper sometimes, even in the simplest situation, doesn’t pick up the shell, but repels it with his fists. Of course, in the best traditions of FIFA – right on the opponent’s player.
Offline for Pro Clubs
Now almost all sports simulations have a pro-player career mode. In many, it coexists with online. The pioneer in this matter can be considered the company 2K, which in a basketball simulator famously connected offline with online. In the first case, you play in the NBA, and in the other, you chop in the streets for the title of best. You can do this both alone and in clubs.
By the way, EA uses a similar scheme in the NHL and NBA series. And it looks pretty cool, and the gameplay itself is interesting and diverse. Here you and the full customization of the character, starting with clothes and accessories and ending with the game features.
It would be great if there was an opportunity to cross career modes offline, Volta and Pro Clubs. I’m not talking about the fact that such a regime is quite simple to monetize, and EA does something only based on personal gain.
Training matches
Well, the last thing you can hope for is training matches within the team. Some will ask: why are they needed in this mode? In order to play in this mode in the club, it is not enough to have a pumped player. Here the interaction between team members, tactical literacy, a large base of drawing standard provisions comes to the fore.
Practicing all this requires a lot of time, because playing against other teams, it is impossible to do this. Standards have to wait a very long time, and the competitive component poses serious obstacles.
Summing up, we can hope that Electronic Arts will seriously engage in this mode, especially since in NBA Live and in NHL, similar modes are better at times. It is hard to say whether we will get a quality product already in FIFA 21. But there is no doubt that this game mode has great potential.
