The other day studio CD Projekt RED released a new patch for Cyberpunk 2077which updates the game to version 1.05… And judging by the preliminary data, it significantly improves the situation. Especially on the basic Xbox One console.
Let’s refresh our memory. On the basic Xbox One, the creation of the Polish studio regularly dropped to 10-15 frames per second and even lower. At the same time, there are huge problems with loading objects and textures, and the picture itself is so low in the game that what is happening turns into a mess of pixels. Metal surfaces and areas of locations in the shade look especially awful.
According to analysis from a YouTube blogger ElAnalistaDeBits, in the latest patch, the focus was on the performance of the console version. So, the average rate of frames per second after increased from 10-15 to 20-25. We are talking about the basic Xbox One.
Improvements are seen on other consoles from Microsoft… So, Xbox One X learned to work more or less at 25-30 frames per second, and on Xbox Series S drawdowns below 30 almost disappeared.
The picture has improved (slightly) even on the Xbox Series X in performance mode, because Cyberpunk 2077 now more often produces stable 60 frames per second.
The funniest change was that the model In and in the prologue for Nomad acquired a leather vest with glasses. Before that, he sported in a T-shirt, because the vest simply did not load in the mirror until the animation was triggered with tearing off the stripe by hand.
As noted by ElAnalistaDeBits, the average resolution has also grown on all platforms. In addition, some reflections have been fixed.
However, positive changes come at a price. For example, on Xbox One, the quality of lighting and shadows has decreased. Overall shadow quality also deteriorated on Xbox One X and Xbox Series X.
Presumably, on all platforms, the rendering range of textures and shadows has decreased.
