French actor Lambert Wilson in talks with Warner bros about re-playing the role of Merovingen in the upcoming fourth part “Matrices“directed by Lana Wachowski. Local edition shared information on this in an exclusive material Allocine.
The film will start production this winter and bring together both franchise veterans and new faces on the set. If everything goes well, Wilson will become another actor who will return to his image, familiar to the audience from the previous parts of The Matrix.. But this can be difficult, since Allocine notes that Wilson’s character, although spelled out in the script for the new film, may be prevented by theatrical commitments of the actor. Now the parties are negotiating.
Long-time fans of The Matrix may remember that Merovingen appeared in the second and third parts as an old powerful program that calls itself an “information merchant.” Together with his wife Persephone, he provided shelter for the exiles of the Matrix.
Portal Deadline also reports that to the cast “Matrix 4“recently joined 34-year-old Mexican Arendira Ibarraalready working with Lana Wachowski on “Eighth feeling“. Who the girl will play is not reported.
The rest of the castes include Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, Yahya Abdul-Mathin II, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, Toby Onwumer and Jonathan Groff.
Filming will take place from February 15 to April 10. Premiere in theaters May 21st 2023 years.
