Recently the company Microsoft and studio Double fine announced that in Psychonauts 2 players will be able to take advantage of the character immortality mode during the passage. The developers have shared the details on social networks.
According to Double Fine, the immortality regime will supposedly expand the audience. At the same time, for some reason, the studio began to ridicule the adherents of passing games at high levels of difficulty.
“We want you to have fun, laugh, plunge into a story that will affect you. Under any conditions,” the message says.
Let us remind you that American journalists constantly complain about “too complicated” games. And comparing each project with Dark souls long ago turned into a meme.
So it’s no surprise that Double Fine’s decision was criticized anyway. So, in Kotaku believe Microsoft has not put in enough effort because PR people use the phrase “beat the game” rather than “complete the game” or “finish the game”.
Separate editor John Walker started complaining about the game Cuphead, a tutorial in which I could not overcome journalist Dean Takahashi… Interestingly, Walker had previously called for a button to “skip bosses,” in response to which he became the object of criticism and jokes.
“It was a coordinated stream of panic from frightened little boys whose only source of pride was my idea,” the author complains.
Kotaku dislikes gaming purists and toxic players, and the need to play games for reviews. Double Fine wants to increase the attractiveness of its project among a young audience and people with disabilities.
The release of Psychonauts 2 will take place on August 25 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PS4 and PS5 (backward compatible).
