Flanagan, who also acts as the author of the script, said that his first version is already ready – and the author is not going to make the tone of the story brighter than the book. The picture will be as “tough and hopeless.”

The author also added that he was glad to return to the atmosphere of cosmic horror and write a story with a gloomy ending, which he had not done since “Absences” or Wiji Boards.
The plot of the Renaissance tells the story of musician Jamie Morton and the priest Charles Jacobs, who discovered the secret of “secret electricity”, which can simultaneously heal and maim people. And the latter with his help wants to achieve his terrible goal.
This is King’s third adaptation from Flanagan, who previously shot The Game of Gerald and “Doctors Sleep.” In addition, the author of the second season of horror anthology comes out this year. Ghosts of a House on a Hill from Netflix.
