Joe Rogan called video games a waste of time – review addiction

In his latest podcast (45:10), renowned comedian, martial artist and sportscaster Joe Rogan spoke out against video games as a waste of time.

Video games are a real problem. They are the real problem. And do you know why? Because they’re funny as hell. You play them and they really grab you, but you don’t get anywhere.

Joe Rogan

According to Rogan, if a person practiced, for example, jujitsu, then three years later he could become a professional athlete, participate in competitions and open his own school someday.

Or you could just play fucking video games and three years later you would be the same kid playing video games, waiting for the next game, whatever it is. You’re just wasting your time.

Joe Rogan

Rogan admitted that a similar problem exists in stand-up comedy, where his successful career has developed in spite of everything.

There are kids who make a lot of money playing video games. But you have to be adaptable, you have to be able to play several video games.

Because what are the chances that the only game you’re really good at will still exist in five years?

Joe Rogan

At the same time, Rogan himself has been an avid gamer for a long time. Earlier in his podcast, he said that in the 90s he paid 10 thousand dollars a month to play Quake without delay.

Soon after the podcast, Rogan’s words were commented on by many in the gaming industry, including streamer Ninja and creative director God of war Corey Barlog.

By words Ninja, over the past five years, the development of the video game industry has led to the fact that players can become not only professional esports players, but also streamers, authors of content for Youtube or even coaches.
Barlog, in turn, considersthat learning and growing sometimes means you just have to sit down and read, listen, watch or play something to expand your mind.

Fun is not extravagance or negative negativity for humanity. Everyone is entitled to their own joy in life.
