Lingering film adaptation of the puzzle Portal from Valve is under active development at the studio Warner bros… This information was confirmed for IGN Jay Jay Abrams as part of the press day for the 4K reissue of Super 8 on Blu-Ray.
“We actually have a script for the Portal movie that is currently being finalized at Warner Bros. Studios. We’re very happy with the presentation and how things are going, so it seems like this thing is finally on track.”
For the first time, the project became known eight years ago, when Abrams’ studio Bad robot and the head of Valve Gabe Newell announced a collaboration to produce film adaptations of Portal and Half-Life.
Abrams did not elaborate on who exactly writes the adaptation of Portal and whether the studio has already approached potential directors, but noted that the picture has enormous potential. As for the current status Half-life, he confirmed that no active work on this project is currently underway…
