In particular, the platform-holder invites three producers at different corporate levels. Their responsibilities will include the complete coordination of the production of new major games – from the infancy to a full-fledged commercial release.… Judging by the job descriptions, in fact, we are talking about the formation of the Asian branch of the group Sony XDev (External Development Studio), which is looking for promising projects and sponsors them as exclusives or console exclusives on PlayStation. An example of recently released games signed by the European XDev branch – Returnal (Housemarque), Sackboy: A Big Adventure (Sumo Digital).
It is noteworthy that specialists working with Japanese and Asian studios will coordinate both the production of completely new projects from independent developers and help them complete games already in development by concluding strategic partnerships.
