“I’ve never played games” – Andrzej Sapkowski commented on attempts to compare The Witcher from CD Projekt RED with the “The Witcher” from Netflix

Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski believes that the game The witcher from CD Projekt RED and the series “The witcher“from Netflix can not be compared, because the approach to their creation and the production process are too different.

“I believe that the series and video games cannot be compared. They are too different in approach, production principle and ultimate goal. You can’t seriously take and compare carbonara paste with a bicycle. Although both have their advantages and disadvantages,” the writer said in an interview with io9 portal.

At the same time, Sapkovsky admitted that he had never played games, with the exception of poker and bridge. If we talk about ways to have fun, then the writer prefers to read books.

The author of the Witcher saga also explained why he gave Netflix permission to film his books..

“I have to admit, at first I didn’t want to do this. I had received a lot of offers before, but I didn’t see any serious mood. Therefore, I practically lost hope, it was hard to convince me. But suddenly there was an offer from Netflix. It differed in what was behind it there were really business people, people interested in work. I had all the grounds for agreement. “

Commenting on expectations from the second season, Sapkowski quoted writer Joe Abercrombie:

“Life is essentially a big shit. It’s better not to wait for anything. And then, perhaps, you will be pleasantly surprised.”
