A job open yesterday hints at this Avalanche software (not to be confused with the Swedish Avalanche Studios, known for the Just Cause series). The studio is looking for a person to the position of assistant technical lighting artist who will join the secret AAA game development team. The ad description says it’s an exciting title on Unreal engine 4whose announcement will take place “soon”. A successful candidate will have to work with a team of artists and engineers to create visually stunning lighting and surroundings, contributing to the overall aesthetic beauty of the game.
But where does Avalanche Software come in? There is currently no reliable information about exactly who is involved in the project, however, rumors rank the development of the game for this particular team. Back in 2017, the network drew attention to the list of Avalanche vacancies, which indicated that the studio was looking for a specialist who was knowledgeable in British culture to work with IP, which already released games and films. Considering that Avalanche Software has historically worked with a large number of popular licenses and since the same 2017 is a subsidiary studio Warner bros, the press immediately came up with the assumption that it could be about “Harry Potter”. Soon after draining the gameplay sources Eurogamer confirmed the development of such a project.
How “soon” the announcement will take place is not specified, but probably this means a few months or so. The platforms are also unknown, although given that the release should be expected no earlier than the end of 2023, the game will most likely be released as a cross-title.
