Insider: Capcom will soon delight fans with a new announcement

According to the informant, the publisher is currently developing Resident evil 8 and another unannounced game in the series, which will not be a revival of the classics. At the same time, it was said that after the release of the updated Resident Evil 3, there will be no new remakes in the series for several more years – instead, Capcom will supposedly focus on restarting several of its other old titles using the RE Engine.

Then Dusk Golem did not specify what kind of games in question, but later added additional clarity: one of the upcoming remakes will be announced soon and no, this is not Dino Crisis, although there were hints of it.

He clarified that the project in question was originally supposed to be presented together with Resident Evil 3 back in E3 2019. Capcom was going to announce the game last year and release this, but in the end the announcement and the game itself were postponed due to overlapping friend on the other, changes in the plans of Sony and Capcom: the first had to focus on improving the PlayStation 5, and the second took more time to develop. An insider suggested that the project could be made cross-gen and delayed the release to launch new consoles.

Last year, Capcom announced its intention to “revive inactive IP.” Fans have long been asking the company to return Dino Crisis and Onimusha.
