Borderlands 3released in September 2019 Gearbox software, in general, was positively received by critics. However, some players were unhappy with the story unfolding around the Calypso twins. Perhaps the studio needed to simply return Handsome Jack from Borderlands 2?
It turns out that Gearbox Software originally planned to do so. Although the team came up with a couple of new villains for Borderlands 3, developers wanted to make Handsome Jack the main antagonist again. This was told by the creative director of the studio Randy Warnell.
Despite the fact that Jack did not become the main villain, the developers still refer to him in the third part of the franchise. Moreover, the other day Gearbox Software released the first storyline add-on called Moxxi’s Heist of The Beautiful Jackpot, whose story is based on a robbery of handsome Jack Space Casino.
Borderlands 3 is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
