Horror Amnesia: Rebirth Studio Frictional Games got a mode that removes … horror from the game. It’s about Adventure Mode, which the developers themselves called a new way to get to know the plot without the frightening and highly stressful elements of the original version… The update is now available as a free download on PC and will be available to PlayStation 4 users in the coming weeks.
According to the creative director of Amnesia: Rebirth Fredrik Olsson, the adventure mode retained a very heavy and sometimes unnerving atmosphere, but in some places made the game more like the adventures of Indiana Jones, where otherwise there would be more horror experience.
When switching to Adventure Mode from Amnesia, life-threatening encounters with ghostly monsters, audio-visual effects signaling the heroine’s level of fear, and the need to use matches disappear due to improved lighting in dark locations. In addition to this, the adventure mode includes several bonus puzzles.
Amnesia: Rebirth appeared last October. This part is a direct sequel to The Dark Descent and tells the story of a girl who survived a plane crash, Tasi Trianon, who is forced to fight for her survival in the desert, gathering together memories of her present and past through hallucinatory visions. A supernatural story full of dark winding tunnels and unsettling momentscreating an atmosphere that itself Frictional admits not accessible to everyone.
Before 13th April you can buy the game on Steam with a 40% discount for 309 rubles…
Frictional Games has previously added a similar mode to SOMA, which retained the horror elements, but made the players invulnerable to dangers.
