We still draw each frame with our hands, but because the total number of frames is very high, we need more time to produce. We need to draw a lot more than before. When we worked on the film My Neighbor Totoro, we could manage with only eight animators. We managed Totoro in eight months. We have 60 animators working on the last picture, and in a month we get just one minute animations respectively per year we draw 12 minutes of the future anime, “explains Toshio Suzuki.
Suzuki also spoke about the pandemic of a new coronavirus infection, which, according to him, had no effect on the overall production plan. Nonetheless, soon “How are you?” still not worth the wait.
“We have been working on this project for three whole years, and now 36 minutes of the film are ready. We hope to finish it in the next three years,” continued the producer.
