Former member Papara supermassive and the first open gay Turkish Championship League for League of Legends Mustafa Kemal Dumbledoge Gokseloglu spoke about the homophobic behavior of his teammate Berkai Zeitnot Ashikuzuna. In TwitLonger, he wrote a story about how for several years he coped with insults due to gay orientation.
In 2017, Dumbledoge found out that a group of Turkish players and streamers has a text conference, the participants of which insult him because of their eyes because of their non-traditional orientation. The esportsman was surprised and upset by the fact that Zeitnot was in the group.
He was shown screenshots in which it was clear that the teammate was actively involved in the discussions. At that time, Gokseloglu and Ashikuzun played SuperMassive on the duo line at the support and carry positions, respectively.
Upon learning of Zeitnot’s homophobic behavior, Dumbledoge left SuperMassive. Under the terms of the contract, he could not perform in other TCL groups. For some time, Gokseloglu looked for options in the world leagues for LoL, but subsequently returned to Turkey. In 2019, he played for Royal youthbut in the playoffs lost to SuperMassive 3–2.
In the springtime TCL 2023 split, SuperMassive re-signed Dumbledoge. The player admits that this decision was very difficult for him, since Zeitnot was still in an active roster. However, this was the most suitable option in terms of competitiveness – the club claimed the championship.
Another Dumbledoge conflict with Zeitnot occurred after a match with 1907 Fenerbahçe Esports. Gokseloglu said that he heard Ashikuzun and team coach Serdar Pades Pades discussing him. Support approached and asked to express all claims in person.
After this conflict, Dumbledoge left the bootcamp. In his story, he noted that he acted unprofessionally and let down the team two days before the game. Last week TCL 2023, his place in the team was taken by Emre Fastlegged Fraser.
According to reddit users, Riot Games began to drown out calls to ban Zeitnot, which TCL viewers shouted. In a Twitch broadcast chat during SuperMassive games, some fans demanded to punish Ashikuzun. Riot Games has not yet spoken out about the situation officially.
