In Evil Genius, the user takes on the role of one of the evil geniuses and, under his guise, tries to achieve world domination by committing a variety of atrocities. And that would be an easy task if it weren’t for these sneaky kids … in the sense of super spies. Government organizations around the world regularly send agent agents to the island to interfere with his plans. To counter them, you need to hire minions and equip the base with deadly traps.

Overlord

If you like the concept of Evil Genius, but instead of the spy thriller you would like to participate in a fantasy adventure, then you should pay attention to Dungeon Keeper. However, in terms of atrocities in magical worlds, you can turn in other directions.

According to the plot of the game, Overlord – the main character (or rather, the main villain) – was awakened by henchmen, after seven heroes defeated the previous evil lord. The player will have to deal with halflings, elves, gnomes, people and a mysterious wizard in order to regain the power of dark forces over the world.

In this action, where we control a sauron-like bruiser and command minion units, everything would be fine if it weren’t for one nuance. In opposing heroes, stigmas are also in the cannon – and not only stigmas, if you look objectively. So, in fact, we even provide everyone a service, getting rid of them. In addition, we can do good deeds – this is due to the parody nature of the game, because of which the archetypal light and darkness changed places. However, unlike most other RPGs, here we play as a villain capable of doing well, and not as a hero who sometimes does something bad.

As soon as it came to fantasy, it is impossible not to mention Tyranny. Unlike all the previous games on the list, filing atrocities with a fair amount of irony, this will only amuse the owners of a very specific sense of humor. Of course, like any RPG, Tyranny provides several options for passing, and therefore formally you can try to avoid the lowest of atrocities. But even with this type of passing a universal hero, you are unlikely to become.

In most games of this genre, we act out the role of a hero, not always ideal in terms of morality, but nevertheless striving to save the world from a terrible evil. Here we are the confidant of this very evil and carry his word with a whip and … a larger whip. Do not wait for simple forks with highlighted “good” and “bad” options: you often have to choose between hypocritically terrible, pragmatically terrible and sadistically terrible.

After Tyranny, with her mass executions and murders of babies, everything else will not seem so impressive to you. But a few more games can still be remembered.
