Blizzard has been frequently criticized lately, and it must be admitted, for quite objective reasons. Today, though, Diablo II fans can breathe a sigh of relief – I’ve played the beta of Diablo II: Resurrected for a few days and I can safely say that the company has finally made a remaster to be proud of. As you remember, in February 2023 Blizzard announced the release of Diablo II: Resurrected – a remaster of the classic Diablo II, in which it promised to update the graphics, slightly redesign the interface and generally refresh the game a little, while retaining its original charm. Like many fans of the franchise, I was delighted to hear the news of the release of an updated version, although not without fear – the mental wound from the failed Warcraft III remaster is still not healed. Fortunately, the studio contractor Vicarious Visions did their job better than their Malaysian counterparts.

Before the review, I set myself only one goal – to understand how old Diablo II feels now, 20 years after its release. And I must say that it is played very well. Immediately after the launch, Blizzard comes up with a trump card – he shows us a cool cinematic to the first act, in which the narrator of the plot, Marius, meets a certain wanderer, mistaking him for the archangel Tyrael. It cannot be described in words, it is better to look.
