Honor unveils Magic 3 line with Google services – the first flagship smartphones after leaving Huawei

Honor has announced the first flagship smartphones since the sale of the unit by the former parent company Huawei. The lineup consists of three devices: Magic 3, Magic 3 Pro and Magic 3 Pro Plus… They will go on sale in China first, followed by an international launch.

The smartphones will ship with Google apps and services that Honor was previously unable to use due to US sanctions. This is expected to make the Magic 3 much more competitive outside of China compared to the previous lineup.

Main technical characteristics

  • The Magic 3 Pro and Magic 3 Pro Plus are powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus, while the base Magic 3 is powered by the Snapdragon 888.
  • All three smartphones received a 6.76-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1344p, a frequency of 120 Hz and curvature on the side edges.
  • The Magic 3 has a 50MP main camera, 13MP ultra-wide and 64MP monochrome. Magic 3 Pro additionally received a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x zoom and optical image stabilization. Magic 3 Pro Plus has increased the resolution of the ultra-wide camera to 64 megapixels.
  • The Magic 3 Pro and Magic 3 Pro + are IP68 water and dust resistant, while the base Magic 3 is IP54 rated.
  • Magic 3 received a battery with a capacity of 4600 mAh and support for wired charging up to 66 W. The Magic3 Pro and Magic3 Pro Plus have up to 50W wireless charging pass-through.

Honor Magic 3 with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory will sell for 899 euros (about 77 thousand rubles), and Magic 3 Pro in the same configuration will cost customers 1099 euros (about 95 thousand rubles). Honor Magic 3 Pro Plus with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of built-in memory will cost 1,499 euros (about 130 thousand rubles).
