To begin with, Sol Cresta’s creative director Hideki Kamiya talked about the history of the Cresta series and how the idea for a sequel was born. Recall that since the release of the most recent part of the series, Terra cresta in 1985, 36 years have passed.
The main features of Sol Cresta will be a three-plane system and a “docking with separation”. What exactly is meant by the game director Takanori Sato explained on the official PlatinumGames blog.
Our ship Yamato consists of three small units: Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi and Susano. And by dividing and re-connecting these units, we can adapt it to a variety of situations and types of enemies. And how exactly this can happen is shown in the new trailer.
Sol Cresta is coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC, and it should be before the end of the year.
