Since it was announced that Tom Holland will play Nathan Drake in the upcoming Sony film based on the series Uncharted, some fans were skeptical about the casting decision, first of all, noting that the actor is still too young for this role.
Speaking on the Good Game Nice Try podcast, Nolan North, who played the original Drake in the games, spoke out about criticism of the choice and fully supported Holland.
In his opinion, Holland is the perfect actor for what Sony wants to do with this Drake iteration.… Rather than trying to copy the playable version of the character, North thinks it wise to tell a different story about the hero, especially his younger years. At the same time, he noted that he likes Holland not only as an actor, but also for his personal qualities outside the cameras.
“He’s a super cute kid and a big fan of [Uncharted]… He is enthusiastic, athletic and an amazing dancer. In fact, he did a lot of his own tricks using the safety ropes. The way he moves, his physical intelligence is amazing. “
The film will premiere in theaters on February 18, 2023. In addition to Holland, the film also starred Antonio Banderas in an unknown role and Mark Wahlberg… The latter played Drake’s friend and mentor, Victor “Sally” Sullivan.
