Halo 5 will not receive optimization for Xbox Series X – improvements will only be at the level of backward compatibility

Company Microsoft recently announced that Halo: The Master Shief Collection will be optimized for consoles in November Xbox Series X / S with support for 120 FPS. Since this will update almost all the main games in the series, many are wondering whether it is worth waiting for a similar update for Halo 5: Guardians

In a new update with the latest news on Halo Waypoint, 343 Industries has answered this question. The developers have confirmed that though special release optimized for the next generation of consoles, Halo 5 will not havedue to backward compatibility, the shooter will still receive some system-level improvements, such as faster loading times and higher resolutions

The latter will be possible due to the fact that the game uses dynamic scaling and due to the more powerful hardware, the Xbox Series will be able to keep the resolution at 4K without drawdowns below this mark, as is the case on the original Xbox One and even the Xbox One X.

Halo 5 remains available only on Xbox One. 343 Industries recently reiterated that it has no plans to add the game to The Master Chief Collection on PC.
