Hackers have found a way to store viruses in the memory of video cards

According to Bleeping Computer, cybercriminals have found a way to hide malware in the memory of video cards and are selling the technology on specialized forums. The specified method is not detected by antiviruses, hackers report in their product advertisements.

The malicious code uses OpenCL 2.0 and only works on Windows – other operating systems are not affected by the virus.

The hackers tested the technology on Intel graphics chips, a Radeon RX 5700 video card, and mobile GeForce GTX 740M and GTX 1650.
