Google Stadia will still be far behind in terms of the number of game releases from Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft consoles

In commercials Stadia company Google encourages gamers to “forget about consoles,” however, the cloud platform will lag far behind systems by the total number of games received per year Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft. The analyst drew attention to this NPD Matt Piscatella.

Earlier, Google officially announced that this year the Stadia library will replenish with 120 games, 10+ of which will be temporary exclusives.

For comparison, last year on Playstation 4, Xbox one and Nintendo switch about 650, 400 and 1,400 games were released, respectively.

Currently, Google studios are working on their own large exclusives for Stadia, but they will not be ready in a few years, so for now the company is focused on making deals with indie teams for temporary exclusives. So far, one such game has come out – Gylt (68/100 on Metacritic) from Tequila works. Representatives of the latter are confident in the bright future of the cloud platform and say that Google has undisclosed trump cards in the sleeve.

Sony and Microsoft will launch the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X this fall. They will receive backward compatibility support for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, respectively.
