Good Mood Guaranteed: Gunpowder Milkshake Review

Many attempts are made to repeat the popular series, but only a few succeed in doing this, since the success of a film, book or game depends on a complex combination of circumstances and sudden chemistry.

French studios led by an Israeli director and screenwriter Navota Papushado decided to create their own female universe with corporations of killers and violent gangs, seasoning everything with very strange French humor. By connecting the elements “Leona” and “John Wick”, The authors tell the story of Eve – a hereditary hired killer who removes the wrong person and becomes an outcast in her own company. Now alone, and then together with librarians (keepers of various weapons for killers), she confronts the army of Irish thugs.

Karen Gillan as Eve and Michelle Yeoh with Angela Bassett in the role of librarians, they create the very explosive cocktail that should delight action movie fans. Well, in the back rows there is a young star from “WitcherFreya Allan

However, possessing the makings of creative uniqueness, “Powder cocktail”Is too similar to the films it copies. The vibes of John Wick are felt both when you first visit the library and during violent gunfights. The time to remember “Leon” comes when Eve decides to save her daughter as one of her goals. At other times, the picture turns into some kind of wild parody – just look at the fight between the heroine paralyzed by drugs and the three disabled killers in an underground hospital. Late action scenes with reversals and time dilations already look like a reference to “Oldboy”- especially with the appearance on the screen of the heroine Bassett with two hammers. And although you can scold the choreography of the battles for absurdity, it looks fun and sometimes obscenely wonderful.

Of course, “Powder Cocktail” can be scolded for being secondary, for strange comedy inserts or an attempt to ride a feminist wave, but one cannot deny Papushado’s image quality. Juicy shots, bright costumes and a picture verified to the smallest detail cause real pleasure on the big screen. But even on a small scale, the story of Eva and her friends can go perfectly in a company with a girl, plush toys or friends. A good mood is guaranteed in any case.
