Ghost of Tsushima developers try to justify the increased price for Director’s Cut for PlayStation 5

Ahead of the release Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut for PS5 Studio Sucker Punch Productions tried to explain why buyers should pay an increased price for the next-gen console version.

Recall that the extended edition of the Ghost of Tsushima costs 4999 rubles in the PS4 version and 5499 rubles in the PS5 version. Owners of the original will be able to update the game to the director’s version for 1429 and 2149 rubles for PS4 and PS5, respectively.

“With the PS5’s ability to render real-time cinematic cinematics, the cutscenes in Ghost of Tsushima and Iki’s Island on PS5 will include lip-syncing for Japanese voice acting,” says Public Relations Manager Andrew Goldfarb.

“We are also pleased to confirm that Ghost of Tsushima, Legends and the new expansion will receive support for haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. 3D sound effects will also be added and loading times will be significantly reduced. The game will offer options with 4K resolution and frame rates close to 60 “.

Ghost of Tsushima is currently available for owners of the next generation console for backward compatibility. Sucker Punch Productions’ creation runs on PS5 with 60 FPS and loads faster thanks to the built-in SSD. However, in an interview with Press Start, the creative and art director Jason Connell recommends buying the native version of the project.

The developer claims that the PS5’s functions are closely related to the new story add-on, although he does not say how it was possible to implement it without the specified functions on the PS4.

Connell claims that Sucker Punch Productions took full advantage of the PS5 rather than just running the system as another hardware upgrade, which is why the features that make the console so specific were literally woven into the Iki Island expansion.

“They are very closely related to each other. This is one of the reasons why we did not consider them separately. We really wanted these two to sing. And this is the main reason why [стоит купить версию для PS5]”.

The Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is now open for pre-order. Sony said yesterday that the expansion’s Ica Island is about the same size as Act 1’s region.
