Gearbox announced a new studio in Montreal, led by industry veterans Sebastian Keiss and Pierre-André Deri. The latter noted that the new development team will not only continue to work on the series Borderlandsbut also create new IPs.
Gearbox founder Randy Pitchford admitted that the company has ambitious plans and wants to develop further to meet the needs of customers not only in the international market, but also in the domestic one.
“We already had a successful track record of building Gearbox Studio Quebec, and our investment in a new studio will open up exciting opportunities for Montreal talent – whether they want to work on existing franchises or choose to develop something original.”
However, Gearbox is not only recruiting new employees, but also losing its veterans. Most recently, senior developers left the company and decided to devote themselves to producing their own independent project.
