Full 4K works only on Xbox Series X: Digital Foundry compared HITMAN 3 on new consoles

Specialists from Digital foundry tested stealth action movie HITMAN 3 in versions for new generation consoles Playstation 5 and Xbox series x and shared interesting results with the audience. Below are the main points from the report.

  • Xbox Series X version of the game – the only one that works in native 4K resolution… There are no dynamic resolution gimmicks here. HITMAN 3 on Microsoft’s new console “has one of the cleanest pictures on the market,” experts say.
  • On PlayStation 5, the game goes to 1800p, and on Xbox Series S – in 1080p… Here, too, the resolution is full – not dynamic.
  • The Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S versions of the game run most of the time with stable 60 FPS, only occasionally sinking below this mark. The biggest drop was recorded on Xbox Series X in a location with many purple colors – up to 50-54 FPS… At the same time, on the PlayStation 5, the counter shows here 60 FPS – Digital Foundry attributes the difference to a lower resolution in the Sony console version. Minor drawdowns can also occur when using a sniper rifle. On average, this happens about once every few hours.

  • The quality of textures and shadows on the Xbox Series X is comparable to the ultra-settings for textures and shadows on a PC.
  • On the PlayStation 5, the texture quality is also comparable to the ultra-settings on the PC, while the shadows are a little worse – their quality is average.
  • The Xbox Series S features the equivalent of high level textures and low level shadow settings.

  • The game loads very quickly on all nextgen platforms. On PS5 it is usually 1-2 seconds faster.
