The free-to-play promotion kicked off in December 2018 with the launch of the digital Epic Games Store and will run through at least the end of 2023. The company has not yet disclosed further plans. Formerly CEO of Epic Games Tim Sweeney has already stated that giveaways are driving more game sales from promoted developers.
