French Focus Home Interactive bought a publishing house Dotemuknown for the release of bitemap Streets of Rage 4 and sports arcade Windjammers…
The deal consists of 38.5 million euros, which the French spent on the acquisition of 77.5% of the company’s share, and an additional 15 million euros for “future income elements” and “second proceeds, taking into account the established performance criteria.”
CEO of Dotemu Cyril Imbert will remain at his post and will become a member of the Executive Committee of the publishing house with the remaining 22.5%. He will also lead a new division that will release games from independent developers.
Head of Focus Home Interactive Christophe Nobilo believes that the acquisition of Dotemu will play a key role in accelerating the company’s growth. The deal will provide the French with a new revenue stream and open up new market areas that will help them gain a place in the fast-growing sector.
With the support of Focus Home Interactive, Dotemu will continue to develop AA games and will be able to launch several future remakes or sequels under license from first generation consoles.
