It absolutely doesn’t matter how easily you get past your opponents in Need for Speed or The Crew when it comes to racing simulators. These games provide a very different experience – there are many things to consider to win them that you never thought about in arcades. And just this transition from arcade to simulator can deter even the most dedicated motorsport and racing fans from further involvement in sim racing. Cybersport.ru has prepared a selection of five titles that will be the most lenient towards beginners in various ways.

Forza Motorsport 7 and Gran Turismo Sport
We combined these two simulators into one group, since from the point of view of our task, the essence of them is the same, and the final choice will depend more on your favorite platform (Forza on PC and Xbox or GT Sport on PlayStation). Both of these games are not a complete simulation: the physics of the controls feels arcade due to the fact that it is adapted not only for steering wheels, but also for console gamepads.

RaceRoom has many classes of cars available to users, including low-power or front-wheel drive. It is with them that you should start learning racing driving, and over time, practicing and memorizing the trajectories, as well as the habits of specific cars, it will be possible to increase the power of piloted cars, switch to rear-wheel drive and break personal records. RaceRoom developers also made very flexible artificial intelligence settings: computer opponents can be made both neat and as aggressive as possible in driving. This approach will allow beginners to prepare well for online, where each pilot will have their own special style.
Assetto Corsa Competizione
This (and also the next) simulator on our list will not be the best choice for those moving into the genre from arcades. To more or less quickly get used to Assetto Corsa Competizione, you must at least be a fan of real motorsport. You need to understand basic things like the principle of trajectory, the importance of smooth piloting for saving tires, and so on. If you have studied materiel, but have never driven a virtual racing car, then the Assetto Corsa Competizione will be an excellent choice.

The thing is that to play iRacing you need to pay for a subscription, as well as buy cars and tracks separately. And if someone drives too aggressively and violates other rules of arrival, they will go to the ban, while no one will return the money for the subscription to him. In other simulators (if we are not talking about closed rooms), you still have to quite often encounter racers who, in principle, do not drive cleanly, and at turns you will regularly receive a powerful poke from them in the rear bumper or in the side.
As mentioned earlier, you shouldn’t get into iRacing if you don’t even at a theoretical level understand the basics and features of driving a racing car. But if you have this knowledge at least at a basic level, then it is iRacing that will provide you with the best experience of playing online and interacting with opponents on the track. And to get used to it, you can spend a month or two on races against artificial intelligence, which is also present in this simulator. When the time comes to go online, it will be easy to find opponents of your level in iRacing, as the community of this game is very large.
