4 days before the release of the first part of the remake Final Fantasy VII first reviews have appeared, and fortunately developers can be congratulated
Judging by the first reviews of critics, Square Enix managed to rethink (yes, to rethink, but more on that later) the classic jRPG.
Journalists praise almost all aspects of the project, noting that the developers coped with the task – in many respects the remake even improves the original, getting rid of inappropriate scenes and expanding much more significant ones.
Due to the fact that Midgar, about a quarter of the original FFVII, became the only location of the novelty, Square Enix managed to bring to the forefront also secondary characters, which almost no attention was paid to 23 years ago.
However, in many reviews, it is noted that the developers do not thoroughly follow the plot of the classics, allowing themselves certain liberties, which some fans may meet with hostility. Fans are advised to include the game while being open to innovation.
The only major drawback is that some note problems with the rhythm of the narrative, which sometimes “sags,” and you have to go through optional scenes until the next major plot moment. The final also turned out to be mixed.
However, the rest is almost perfect. Some believe that Square Enix has created the best jRPG since the original Final Fantasy VII. This time, the Japanese even succeeded in a combat system, and we don’t even have to say about aesthetics, the visual component and the music – everything is fine with this.
A remake of Final Fantasy VII is both a masterpiece, a love letter to fans of the original, and a tribute to one of the greatest games in history.
The novelty follows in the footsteps of the 1997 classic, changing the principles of how stories can be told in games.
However, do not forget that the final Fantasy VII coming out on April 10 is only the first part of the remake. It will take about 35-50 hours to complete it. How many episodes will be and when they will be released is unknown.
