At the 96th year of life, a British writer and linguist died Christopher Tolkien – the creator’s son “Lord of the Rings “ J.R. R. Tolkien. Representatives of the international fan club and charity fund reported on the sad event of January 16 Tolkien society.
According to preliminary data, Christopher Tolkien died in the French commune of Draguignan. The causes of the death of the son of the Professor have not yet been reported.

As a professor at Oxford University, Tolkien did a lot to preserve his father’s legacy. The fact is that J.R. R. Christopher Tolkien did not like this state of affairs. He actively tried to interfere with the filming Peter Jackson, sent lawsuits and even managed to break off relations with his own son Simonwho supported the work of the director.
In 2017, Christopher retired, after which the management of Tolkien Estate ceased to obstruct and established cooperation with other parties. So now Amazon working on a series based on The Lord of the Rings (project budget is about a billion dollars), and the studio Daedalic entertainment creates a stealth game about Gollum, which will be released on the next generation consoles.
