As writes Kidscreen, French studio Cyber Group agreed with Square enix about creating an animated series based on Final Fantasy IX… It will be aimed at an audience of 8 to 13 years old – while the show is created for those who are not familiar with the plot of the game.
The number of episodes and their length are currently unknown, but the head of the studio notes that full production should start late this or early next year. Cyber Group will also be involved in distribution, licensing and merchandising.
Final Fantasy IX is currently available on PlayStation and PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android and PC.
