Yesterday, many media published interviews with developers Far cry 6, where once again raised the issue of the political background of the project Ubisoft – and once again the publisher tried to dispel it.
According to the narrative director of the shooter, Navid Hawari, the team tried to honor the memory of the fighters for the freedom of guerrilla warfare – the developers even specifically communicated with them. However, the story is created in such a way as to avoid the influence of similar events from reality.
Inspired by the guerrilla culture and their stories, Ubisoft realized that they couldn’t just recreate Cuba, if only because the game was inspired by many different revolutions around the world.
“We realized that Cuba has a very complicated history and we do not want to make our game a political statement specifically about Cuba.“.
That is why Ubisoft decided to create the fictional island of Yara, so as not to be creatively constrained by politics and sources of inspiration.
Far Cry 6 launches October 7 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC. Yesterday, the developers presented the first gameplay, talked about the protagonists and shared fresh details.
