Award ceremony American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (“Oscar 2023“) set a new anti-record. Show ratings were the worst for the entire existence of the award.
According to analysts, only 23.6 million people watched the ceremony on the night of February 9-10. Thus, views fell off immediately by 20% (six million viewers compared to last year), respondents rated the show by only 5.3 points out of 10 (-31%).
In 2019, the performance of the ceremony was as follows: 29.6 million viewers, a score of 7.7 points. Oscar-2018 holds the second line in anti-rating – 26.5 million viewers.
At the same time, the organizers of the ceremony managed to arouse the anger of VFX specialists who did not appreciate the strained jokes James Corden and Rebel wilsonwho went on stage in the ridiculous costumes of their characters from the failed movie musical “Cats“.
