Facebook is testing Messenger authorization by Face ID and Touch ID

Facebook testing a new feature for Messenger, which allows users to increase the security of correspondence. It is assumed that you can use Face ID, Touch ID or password to access it even if the smartphone is already unlocked.
You can also set a certain period of time after minimizing the application, after which you will need to log in again.
Currently, the company is testing a new security feature among a small percentage of iOS users, but it will appear on Android in the future. The developers said they want to give users more options to protect data.
A similar system has already been implemented in many other instant messengers, for example, in Signal. Note that Facebook is actively improving the protection of its communication applications, although it’s too early to talk about complete security.
