Facebook acquired developers of Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time and Asgard’s Wrath VR action

Company Facebook announced the acquisition of the studio Sanzaru gameswhose track record includes last year’s VR action Asgard’s wrath. The amount of the transaction has not been disclosed.

Command Sanzaru will function independently and join the Facebook gaming division called Oculus Studios. Similarly, last November, an American corporation bought creators of the popular VR game Beat saber.

In his official blog Facebook Content Director Mike Verdu praised Sanzaru’s previous work in VR. In addition, he recalled that since 2016, developers have created a total of 4 projects for the Oculus virtual reality helmet (Ripcoil, VR Sports Challenge, MARVEL Powers United VR, Asgard’s wrath) Verdu did not talk about future projects of the acquired studio, adding that “overwhelming majority” Sanzaru employees will join Oculus Studios. Those people whose employment was associated with the release of certain projects will not go under the wing of Facebook.

Sanzaru games was founded in 2007 in California with headquarters in the city of Foster City. Along with the VR games already mentioned above, the studio worked on projects such as Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, Sonic boom: shattered crystal and Sonic boom: fire and ice.
