At the same time, Epic Games also concluded similar agreements with the teams Gendesign (The Last Guardian) and Playdead (Inside, Limbo). As part of the partnership, the company will provide studios with complete creative freedom and retain all the copyrights to the created games. At the same time, the company undertakes to independently cover up to 100% of production costs, including developers’ salaries, quality assurance, localization, marketing, publication costs and much more. The profit will be equally divided between the publisher and the development studio.
“GenDesign, Remedy and Playdead are some of the most innovative and talented studios in the industry with a clear vision of what their next games should be. The developers will take on the creative side, and Epic will become their solid support for maintenance and funding,” said Hector Sanchez, Head of Epic Games Publishing.
In future Epic Games Publishing He plans to expand the initiative with new deals with several more studios, and they promise to reveal details about the projects of the above-mentioned teams in the coming months.
