Edition Deadline and film company “Central Partnership“announced the development of an English-language remake of the cult Soviet comedy Eldar Ryazanov”Irony of Fate or Enjoy Your Bath!“.
The new version of the film is announced as a large international project… The production will be directed by Russian director Marius Weisberg (Hitler Kaput!, Grandma of Easy Behavior), the script is written by Tiffany Paulsen (Couple for the Holidays), and Vincent Newman (We are the Millers) will be co-producing.
“I am very glad that our Soviet cultural heritage will now become the property of the whole world. I have been working on this project for many years and now, finally, thanks to my partner, Vladimir Koshelev, we have managed to create a brilliant scenario,” Weisberg noted.
The remake is described as a romantic comedy about two people who believe in love, but cannot find its true meaning until fate brings them together on New Year’s Eve. The authors promise a lot of humor, romance and a festive atmosphere.
The main roles will be performed Emma Roberts, Thomas Mann, Garrett Hedlund and Britt Robertson… Filming will begin in Boston this summer.
