A couple of days ago a space simulator Elite dangerous allowed exploring planets on my own two feet thanks to the add-on Odyssey, however, the players criticized the novelty. On Steam, the DLC has about 66% negative reviews.
Different players complain about different things – here and optimization, due to which, even on the recommended GTX 1060, the add-on produces much lower performance than the main game, and new mechanics, and fresh content in general.
Most still swear at optimization, which makes it impossible to get to the main content – for some, before installing the DLC, the simulator gave out in the region of 90 FPS, while now it is difficult to reach even 30 frames.
On Steam, the extension is actively called “early access”, although for developers this is a full-fledged release – which, at the same time, was also postponed for additional polish (on consoles it will not appear until autumn at all).
Those who got to the new content note its low quality and small quantity – the design of settlements and stations is repeated, and there is almost no interaction with the world and other players. Some players, however, are more loyal and note that in the future everything should fall into place.
However, as the players noticed and the developers later confirmed, you can still increase the performance yourself – for this you need to delete the file with the graphics settings and re-set them in the game settings. So you can increase the frame rate by 2-3 times.
