Director of company Electronic Arts Andrew Wilson held a meeting with investors, during which, among other things, he commented on the future of the studio BioWare, which is now preparing for release a collection of classic role-playing games Mass Effect Legendary Edition (our preview).
According to Wilson, despite certain rearrangements in the creative top BioWare, namely leaving the studio Casey Hudson and Mark Darrah, authors Mass effect and Dragon age still remain for EA a very valuable asset, which is now actively developing in many directions at once…
“Back to BioWare. This is a great studio with incredible staff to create even more incredible things.… Yes, from the outside it may seem that their portfolio has deviated slightly from the norm over the past few years, but the reason for this is their passion for innovation and bright creativity… And now we have a huge, huge amount of confidence in their development strategy, which we mentioned earlier in the context of discussions about games like Dragon Age and Mass Effect and their future.
We also express our deepest respect for Casey and Mark, who recently left the team. They are both close friends of mine. We really appreciate them. But such processes are an integral part of creative reorganization, and it happens from time to time. Nowadays people are engaged in leadership, in whose talents we believe with all our hearts. Specialists continue to work in the studio every day, filling it with fresh ideas and creative enthusiasm.
