EA announced the purchase of an English studio Glu mobile, which is engaged in the creation of simple mobile and browser games. The deal is estimated at $ 2.4 billion.
Interestingly, right now, an American publisher is also buying another British firm – Codemasters, the creators of DiRT, DiRT Rally, GRID and F1, as well as studio owners Slightly Mad Studiosknown for Need for Speed: Shift and Project CARS. The deal is worth $ 1.2 billion.
Electronic Arts will become one of the largest mobile publishers through the acquisition of Glu Mobile, with 15 top smartphone projects and a monthly audience of 100 million. Thanks to the revenue, EA expects to receive more than $ 1.32 billion in the first year.
Glu Mobile is best known for games like Design Home, Covet Fashion, Disney Sorcerer’s Arena, MLB Tap Sports Baseball and Kim Kardashian: Hollywood.
