Digital Foundry: not all games of the past generation will work better on the PlayStation 5

Next Generation Console Playstation 5 will be able to natively play games Playstation 4. Gamers believe that projects will work at higher resolutions and frame rates. However, experts Digital foundry don’t think so.

They suggest that not all PS4 games will get improvements on the PlayStation 5. According to Digital Foundry, in most cases we will see only an unlimited frame rate and increased resolution where it is dynamically scaled.

Among projects that can get significant performance improvements, this is to be expected from Dark souls 3 and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. For the first, an update was released under Playstation 4 prowhich unlocked the frame rate. In the second, such an option was already enabled immediately. Since the PlayStation 4 processor is to blame for the poor performance of both games on the base console model, it is possible that projects will play at 60 frames / s on the PlayStation 5, taking advantage of the next-generation advanced hardware systems.

But with Bloodborne the situation is different: even on the PlayStation 4 Pro, the project frequency is fixed at 30 frames / s, and the game itself is experiencing problems with the distribution of frames over time.

In the video, Digital Foundry also cited several other games as an example, including Killzone: shadow fall.
