Star of “Man of Steel” and “The Witcher” Henry Cavill is negotiating for one of the main roles in the relaunch of the cult science fiction film “Highlander“from the studio Lionsgate,” Deadline reported, citing its sources.
The remake will be directed by “John Wick” Chad Stahelski… One of the executive producers will be Gregory Wyden – Co-author of the very first film in the 1986 franchise release.
In the original Highlander, Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown play immortal warriors on the hunt for each other and strive to become as strong as possible. A film known for its catchphrase “There Will Be Only One”, spawned four feature-length sequels and three television series, including the hugely popular US show starring Adrian Paul.
It is not yet known who exactly Henry Cavill will play in the upcoming reboot – a completely new character or one of the already known heroes. Details of the plot and the timing of the start of filming were also not disclosed.
