In patch 7.30 for Dota 2, the developers added Aghanim’s Scepter for Dawnbreaker. The artifact changed the character’s ultimate, allowing him to almost instantly soar into the air and literally disappear from the game for five seconds. We talked about how useful the ability itself is in combination with Holy Locket, but now let’s talk about how this mechanic interacts with the skills of other characters. What will happen to Lifestealer if he gets out of Dawnbreaker while she is in the air? Can you bring a character back from heaven with Kunkka’s X Marks the Spot? And where will Huskar fly if he applies Life Break to the Dawnbreaker that activated the ultimate? The answers to these questions are in the material Cybersport.ru.

Poor flying Huskar and Meepo
Huskar can be hit hardest by interacting with Dawnbreaker’s ultimate if he uses Life Break on a hero half a second before he takes off. As a result, Huskar will slowly reach for the Dawnbreaker to the starting point. So slow. And all this time it will be possible to beat him. At the same time, it will not work to cancel Life Break – you will have to endure it to the end. It looks pretty comical.
Not Poor Flying Sven and Spirit Breaker
But Sven with Aghanim’s Scepter is not so simple. Using the stun on Dawnbreaker, he will fly after the character only to the point from which he casted the ultimate. After that, Sven himself will stop, and he can be safely controlled. But the glove released by him will continue its invisible path across the entire map and overtake Dawnbreaker a few seconds after landing, stunning her.
Combining Dawnbreaker’s ultimate with Tricks of the Trade will be more difficult, as the latter only lasts for two seconds:
If Dawnbreaker is in the air for a long time, then Riki will continue to attack enemies with Tricks of the Trade in the same place where it was originally, and in the end it will remain there.
If Dawnbreaker immediately decides to land at the destination, then Riki will be transported with her and even have time to deliver a couple of hits with the activated Tricks of the Trade.
But allied Snapfire or Pudge will not be able to “eat” Dawnbreaker without interrupting her ultimate.
Come on, come back!
Dawnbreaker is selectively immune to magic while flying. For example, a hero in the sky will be immune to Global Silence. Even if Silencer uses his ultimate split seconds before take off, Dawnbreaker can safely activate emergency landing and any other abilities once on the ground.
You won’t be able to return a Dawnbreaker that has already taken off, even if you managed to use Disruptor’s Glimpse or Kunkka’s X Marks the Spot on it – the hero will continue to hover. But if Dawnbreaker lands too early, then Kunkka can bring her back.
What about Puck?
Ultimate Puck with Aghanim’s Scepter stuns characters that break the Dream Coil. The Dawnbreaker is stunned in the air, but can still land.
For today, these are all the fun features associated with Dawnbreaker and her ultimate. Share your findings in the comments, and also tell us if you are interested in this format of materials and would you like to see something similar about the abilities of other characters.
