After watching the feed James Gunn, he thought several times that Eyru had long had to abandon the idea of a director’s version of his picture. The director replied with a three-page letter, adding that he was speaking publicly about this “for the last time.”

Eyre said that he was not holding a rough draft of the director’s cut, but a finished editing, while the tape itself is tonally and structurally different from the WB version.
The film has a great soundtrack by Stephen Price, there is not a single “song from the radio”. But there is a traditional character development, great acting and a thoughtful ending in the third act.

Eyre also drew attention to his own past, thanks to which he was used to taking material literally from life – as was the case with “Training day”… But he was not used to giving up, as is the case with the director’s version of “Detachment”. Especially after his kids saw how much he was influenced by studio interference during editing.

Finally, the director once again supported the new film by James Gunn. In addition, he added that despite the problems, he has no conflict with Warner Bros., and in general he is happy for the entire franchise.
After Eyre’s appeal was supported by various representatives of the industry – including the same James Gunn, director “Birds of Prey” Katie Yan, artist Jay Oliva (who worked with Snyder) and many others. And the hashtag “Release a Version of Air” again broke into the trends of networks.
