Thriller reviews from critics appeared online Twelve minutes about characters stuck in a time loop.
Overall, reviewers rated the performance with the all-star cast positively, although they noted a number of different drawbacks. Now the project has 79 points on Metacritic on 27 reviews and 78 on OpenCritic based on 25 texts.
Almost everyone calls the main advantage the atmosphere and plot, reminiscent of popular films of similar genres, in particular works Alfred Hitchcock… Critics point out that the authors have presented a rather fascinating look at the concept of the time loop itself, where almost every “repeat” ends at an unexpected turn.
In addition, it was praised for the variability of events, which does not allow you to get bored in the same location. Also, many add that even after passing the game, it does not get out of my head, prompting me to think about the nature of truth and other similar topics.
The author of the Gamespot portal even remembered the words of the author Deus Ex Warren Spector, who wanted to do a project around one area of the city, thereby deepening the story. Twelve Minutes does something similar.
Minuses include problems with character animations and annoying moments like individual puzzles that can frustrate players. In addition, the game has a lot of repetition, which, despite the concept, not everyone liked.
The release of Twelve Minutes will take place tomorrow, August 19, on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series.
