Cosmic mess: Chris Roberts promised a new roadmap for Squadron 42, “forgetting” about the old

Studio Chris Roberts Cloud Imperium Games responded to criticism from fans who were unhappy that the creators Star citizen constantly break the promises they made on the development time frame.

The main criticism was the situation around the story campaign. Squadron 42, about which nothing was heard for a long time, although the start of the beta test was scheduled for the third quarter of 2023. According to the studio, they wanted to make a video of the project, but the quality of the materials allegedly did not meet internal standards.

However, in the next few weeks, Cloud Imperium Games promises to present a new roadmap, which supposedly will reflect what tasks the teams are working on. The promised Squadron 42 video is also due out soon.

Let’s face it: the developers are clearly being cunning, because such a roadmap existed, but Chris Roberts’ studio constantly did not meet the deadlines. The progress in the creation of Squadron 42 was reflected on the official website of the project, but at the beginning of the year it was obvious that the team was hopelessly behind.

The new blog claims that work on the new roadmap has been going on since March, but July has just ended, so the question arises: what is happening in the studio, which cannot adequately assess the scale of work on a project with a budget exceeding $ 250 million?
