Coronavirus plays into Valve’s hand – Counter-Strike: Global Offensive updated its record on Steam

Shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Valve set new record in digital distribution store again Steam. According to statistics from the Steam Charts tracking site, the peak number of players who were simultaneously on the competitive shooter on March 1 was 924,045 players. Thus, last record result was beaten after only a few weeks.

It is not yet clear what factors influenced such a sharp jump in popularity, but many experts and gamers believe that this may be due to the transition to the f2p distribution model, the release of the Battle Pass Operation shattered web and, of course, with the threat of a deadly coronavirus that makes people stay at home.

The day before it became known that a major tournament IEM Katowice Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which takes place in Poland without the participation of spectators, precisely because of fears related to the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, has attracted great audience excitement in the vastness of the network.
